REPETITIVE MOTION INJURIES

Repetitive motion injuries commonly occur in the workplace where we are repeating a particular motion or series of motions without benefit of ideal ergonomics. This causes extraordinary muscle tightness, eventually stressing the joint(s) and nerves feeding those structures. Usually these issues occur after years of repeating a physical activity, day in and day out, for hours every day. They are injuries that can be addressed and remediated by massage therapy, often preventing the need for invasive surgical procedures.

Massaging the soft tissues surrounding an affected area to relieve tension and pain, icing the area to prevent or decrease inflammation and swelling, and addressing ways of stretching and supporting the area to prevent compromising it again are just some of the ways to deal with problems arising from repetitive motions.
